May Powder Day

05.02.08 by Kendall Card

While golfing and biking would be nice this time of the year, if May 1st dawns with 16″ of new snow at Snowbird there’s only one thing that should be done – go skiing.

Every year it seems that we get at least one good May powder day at Snowbird. As the longest open resort in Utah they are the benefactors of Mother Nature’s last effort to express her wintry self.

So after a digital session, cleaning out the inbox and getting a few things off the plate I headed up to delight in May’s arrival at Snowbird. A lot of the talk was about how awesome the spring skiing will be when spring skiing conditions finally arrive. Soon? Until then, I suppose untracked powder at Snowbird will have to do.

Matt getting some May Pow - coming in hot!

Oops, there’s one track already in there. Better move on to another spot.

Sunsets this time of the year aren’t half bad either. A great finish to another great day in Utah’s Wasatch Mountains.
