Hot Tub with a View - Upper Norfolk in Historic Park City

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

This is part of our “Hot Tub with a View” series which features properties whose hot tub has a view worth talking about.

Nestled in the hill side of old town, Upper Norfolk provides visitors with an unique view of Park City’s Historic Main Street and the rest of Park City beyond.  It’s a unique property in that its 4 bedrooms and 3.5 baths are located on 3 separate floors.  The result - each floor offers a different view of Park City.

The hot tub is located on the bottom deck and during the winter when Christmas lights are strung across Main Street and most of the buildings have white lights on them, this hot tub view perched above it all is second to none.

Above is the view looking south down upon Historic Main Street and towards Park Meadows in the far distance.  The image below is looking to the north at the hills above Deer Valley’s Snowpark Lodge.  In the summer the trees provide additional privacy.

Aside from a one of a kind hot tub view, Upper Norfolk is just steps away from the Park City Mountain Resort ski run “Quittin’ Time” where you can ski down to the Town Lift . It’s also just steps from main street, accessed by outdoor stairs that are found in abundance in Park City’s Old Town.

If you want a bit of old town flavor with a ski vacation to Park City, Upper Norfolk would be near the top of my list.

Hot Tub with a View - Grand Cabin

Sunday, September 21st, 2008

This is part of our “Hot Tub with a View” series which features properties whose hot tub has a view worth talking about.

The Grand Cabin is very likely the most beautiful luxury home available for rent near the Cottonwood Canyons, from any property management company.  It’s just minutes from Big Cottonwood where Brighton and Solitude are located or minutes from Snowbird and Alta in Little Cottonwood Canyon.

But after looking at the views, especially those from the hot tub, I’d contest that the primary vacation destination may in this case be the home, not the ski resorts.

The other night with the sun setting and a series of storms moving across the Salt Lake Valley, we were able to capture this image from the hot tub.

Here is a view of it as winter sets in.

Aside from the amazing view, other ammenities include:

  • Master Bath w/ jetted tub and fireplace
  • Pool Table & Wet Bar
  • TV, VCR & stereo w/ CD
  • Washer and Dryer
  • 4 Gas Fireplaces
  • The Grand Cabin comfortably sleeps 12 within 6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths. With 3 separate living areas it is easily one of the best locations for a couple of families to stay together.

Check out the Grand Cabin for your family’s next ski vacation to Utah.  It may be the highlight, despite how much snow Utah gets while you’re here to ski and snowboard.

Hot Tub with a View - Canyon Racquet Club

    Friday, September 19th, 2008

This is part of our “Hot Tub with a View” series which features properties whose hot tub has a view worth talking about.

When coming to Utah for skiing in Big or Little Cottonwood Canyon few locations give you better “front row” access to Snowbird, Alta, Brighton and Solitude than Canyon Racquet Club.  Located on Wasatch Boulevard a stones throw from the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon, the Canyon Racquet Club is tucked away in a quiet setting with views of the valley and the immediate mountains to the east.

Utah Vacation Homes offers 8 different properties within Canyon Racquet Club and one of the most recent re-modeled units is Canyon Racquet Club B4.

When I first walked into this property to get the hot tub view images I was very surprised by it’s size and by the modern, clean look of the place.  Speaking of modern, the hot tub is a very new 7 passenger hot tub with back massage for each station.  It’s plush!

B4 sleeps 10 and has 4 bedrooms, one of them perfect for families due to the bunk beds.  Other features of this property include:

  • 50″ Plasma & 37″ LCD TV’s
  • VHS & DVD Player
  • Gas Fireplace
  • 2 car garage with ski storage (No on-street parking)
  • Washer and Dryer
  • Wireless High-speed Internet
  • Canyon Racquet Club unit B-4 - hot tub

Admittedly, the summertime view from this hot tub isn’t as phenomenal as say the Crossings at Solitude due to the trees (which provide some nice privacy), but in the winter when the trees have lost their leaves the views of the Wasatch Mountains to the east are hard to beat.   Add to that the new hot tub and very nice condo and you’ll be looking to remodel your own place when you get home!

This is part of our “Hot Tub with a View” series which features properties whose hot tub has a view worth talking about.

Last week I mentioned that the fall colors were starting to appear in the upper reaches of Big Cottonwood Canyon and that a great place to consider for a fall get away in the Wasatch Mountians of Utah is the Crossings at Solitude Mountain Resort.

We currently manage one property, The Crossings, at Solitude.   Although it doesn’t have a private hot tub there is access to the “Eagle Club” pool and hot tub which is in the heart of the Solitude village.

Once you see it and better yet soak in one of two hot tubs it’ll make up for the short walk to the pool.

Like I said, it has two hot tubs, one on the west side of the pool and one on the east side, with each holding its own unique view of the surrounding mountains and the resort. The pool has a kiddy slide and is heated year round. Summer or winter, this hot tub delivers the views!

Fall Colors in Big Cottonwood Canyon

    Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Here in Utah the first snow has fallen but the warm autumn days have long since melted it away, bringing instead fall colors to the upper reaches of Big and Little Cottonwood Canyons.  Over the next few weeks the cooler nights and shorter days will help to spur the changing of colors.

I was up in Big Cottonwood Canyon the other day and saw that the leaves are already changing.

If you’re looking for a fall get away to enjoy the cool evening temperatures and beauty of Utah’s Wasatch mountains you should consider one of the Crossings at Solitude which is a very nice Townhouse in the Solitude Resort Village and just a couple miles from where the above images were taken.

It sleeps up to 14 in 4 bedrooms so the entire family or even two families could relax and take in the mountain views.

If you make it into the mountains and get some pictures of the fall colors, e-mail us an image to post on the blog - info@utahvacationhomes.com

    Time to Think Snow

    Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Labor Day often signals the end of summer and the beginning of autumn but this year it may have signaled the beginning of winter!

A cold storm front moved through northern Utah and in its wake the high peaks were covered with the first coating of white that they’ve seen since late May.

First Snow at Snowbird Resort in Utah

The photo above from Snowbird Resort’s website photo of the day on Sept 2 is a good sign of things to come.

I’m starting to think about what skis to purchase this year, what resorts I want to ski at and when they will open!  It’s almost go time!
