November 2010 – Third Snowiest November on Record

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

With November all but over snow reports for the month have come out, and the news for ski bums is good.  Several large storms throughout the month have made November 2010 the third snowiest November on record for Salt Lake City.  In terms of skiing or snowboarding that equates to incredible bases and early season skiing at Utah’s resorts.  Alta is reporting a base of 67″,  Brighton 56″, Snowbird 54″, and Solitude 47″.

More snow is expected tonight and into tomorrow as well as on Friday.  With a banner November and more snow on the way  it looks like Utah’s  2010/2011 ski season is going to be one we’ll remember and brag about for years.

Another Great Snowstorm

Wednesday, January 20th, 2010

Utah is in a very wet weather pattern right now.  Snowstorms started on Monday and the forecast calls for snow for at least 6 of the next 10 days.  So far the totals for our ski resorts have been substantial, with many resorts reporting “Monster Dumps”, more than 12 inches of snow, each of the last two days.    Solitude leads the way with 26 inches in the last 48 hours.

Here is a snapshot of Ski Utah’s snow report.

Looks like great skiing to me.
